Accountable Recruitment is seeking a fully qualified ACA or ACCA Financial Accountant in St Helens to join a PE-backed engineering business. You will own the financial reporting cycle and support cross-functional finance, with exposure to statutory accounts, audit, tax and planning.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Production of statutory financial statements
• Support year-end audit and liaising with external auditors
• Handle corporation tax, VAT and other regulatory compliance
• Financial planning and analysis, including reporting and business performance review
• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of strong financial controls
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function
• Act as a key point of contact for finance-related queries
• Guide and support transactional finance team members as needed
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and commercial teams

Salary: GBP45000 - GBP55000 per annum

Accountable Recruitment are looking to recruit a highly successful, private equity-backed engineering business to recruit a talented Financial Accountant to join its finance team at an exciting stage of growth.

With growing year on year revenues and ambitious plans for continued expansion, the business expanding operations across their UK and European entities.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a qualified ACA or ACCA candidate looking to make their first move from practice into industry. Reporting directly into the Financial Controller, you will gain broad exposure across all aspects of finance and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business.

The Role

As Financial Accountant, you will take ownership of the financial reporting cycle while acting as a key support to the wider finance function.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts

• Corporation tax, VAT and other regulatory compliance requirements
• Financial planning and analysis activities, including reporting and business performance review
• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of strong financial controls
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Identifying and implementing process improvements across the finance function
• Acting as a key point of contact for finance-related queries across the business
• Providing guidance and support to transactional finance team members when required
• Working closely with operational stakeholders across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and commercial teams

About You

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA
• Strong technical accounting knowledge gained within an accountancy practice environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
• Strong problem-solving ability with a practical approach
