An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a highly respected global organisation based in Milton Keynes. This role offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting business decisions through insightful analysis, and managing capital expenditure processes. What you'll do:

As a Financial Accountant based in Milton Keynes, you will play an integral role in delivering timely and accurate financial information that underpins strategic decision-making across the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you working closely with various departments to manage month-end processes, prepare detailed reports on overheads and capital expenditure, and provide valuable business partnering support. You will have the opportunity to present findings directly to senior management, contribute to statutory account preparations, assist with external audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Success in this role will come from your ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, maintain meticulous attention to detail under pressure, adapt flexibly to changing priorities, and consistently deliver high-quality outputs that drive business performance forward.

  • Oversee the monthly close process by preparing consolidation pack reports for the parent company and performing all necessary month end accounting tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Complete comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations each month while ensuring internal management reporting is delivered on time and meets high standards of clarity.
  • Prepare monthly overhead workings and schedules, conducting thorough analysis of major variances to inform business decisions.
  • Manage all aspects of the capital expenditure process including preparation of annual CAPEX budgets, reviewing requests for capital expenditure or disposals, and maintaining the fixed asset register.
  • Present monthly overhead meetings with finance stakeholders to monitor spend effectively and produce analytical reports for senior management review.
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and ensure successful completion of annual external audits by collaborating closely with relevant teams.
  • Assist in compiling financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements with precision.
  • Provide compliance support by assisting with regulatory filings including dormant accounts submissions, Office for National Statistics returns, and annual returns as required.

What you bring:

To excel as a Financial Accountant in this organisation, you will bring proven experience from similar roles where your technical expertise has been matched by your ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Your background will include full accountancy qualifications along with hands-on experience managing complex reporting cycles. You will be adept at using advanced Excel functions for analysis purposes while also demonstrating excellent organisational skills that enable you to meet strict deadlines without sacrificing quality. Your interpersonal abilities will allow you to communicate clearly with stakeholders ranging from operational staff through to senior executives. A flexible mindset ensures you can adapt quickly when priorities shift-always maintaining focus on delivering results that add value. Above all else, your integrity ensures sensitive information is handled appropriately at all times.

  • Demonstrated experience in business partnering within a finance function where you have influenced decision-making through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Full qualification as an accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with up-to-date technical knowledge relevant to statutory reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office packages-particularly Excel-for data analysis, report preparation, and financial modelling.
  • Exceptional numeracy skills combined with sound technical expertise in accounting principles applicable to large organisations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high standards of organisation and time-management under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to relate effectively with colleagues at all levels across different functions within the business.
  • A flexible approach that allows you to reprioritise tasks quickly in response to evolving business needs without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • High degree of self-motivation coupled with acute attention to detail; you take pride in producing work that is both thorough and reliable every time.
  • Integrity when handling confidential information; you understand the importance of discretion within a corporate environment.
