Job Title: Financial Accountant

Location: EC3N London, UK

Hours: Full time, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm

Salary: Competitive salary and benefits in line with market, dependant on experience

Company Overview: Smart Managed Solutions are a facilities management company with a broad portfolio of commercial buildings. To support the growth and success of the company we are looking to bring new members into our multi-disciplinary team.

Role Summary: Smart Managed Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail oriented Financial Accountant to join our team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the company. This role is ideal for an accountant with a solid foundation in accounting principles and a few years of experience looking to advance their career in a dynamic and growing organisation. They will be reporting to the finance manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the monthly managements accounts in a timely and accurate manner including profit and loss reports and balance sheet.
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial and regulatory information for internal and external audit purposes.
  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Undertaking other projects and analysis on an adhoc basis, responding to queries under time pressure.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision making for both finance and the wider business.
  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • PQ or fully qualified (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
