Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA status.

• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
• Detail-oriented and well-organised.
• Experience in multinational/international environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities.
• Prepare and post journals.
• Produce balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare intercompany reconciliations and settlements.
• Support VAT returns and statutory reporting.
• Assist with annual statutory accounts and audits.

Assistant Financial Accountant (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Manchester (Hybrid Working)

£32,000 - £36,000 + Study Support

Are you a part-qualified accountant actively studying towards ACCA or CIMA and looking to further develop your experience within an international finance environment?

We're recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join a well-established finance team supporting operations across Europe and the Middle East. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers excellent exposure to financial reporting, statutory accounting, compliance and month-end processes within a global business.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with month-end and quarter-end close activities
• Preparing and posting journals
• Producing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
• Preparing fee and intercompany reconciliations
• Supporting intercompany invoicing and settlements
• Assisting with monthly reporting packs for local accountants
• Supporting VAT returns and wider compliance reporting
• Assisting with statutory accounts and audit processes
• Liaising with external advisors, auditors and internal stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
• Supporting finance projects and process improvements

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA status
• Be actively studying towards your qualification (essential)
• 3-5 years' finance experience within industry
• Experience supporting month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Experience within a multi-site or international business would be advantageous
• Be immediately available or able to start within a short notice period
