Job summary

Investigo Limited in Hertford is seeking a Financial Accountant to strengthen financial accounting and control activities across divisions. The role offers the chance to take on more responsibility and progress over time, with a competitive salary and hybrid working arrangement.

You will support month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, audit preparation, and statutory reporting in line with company policies and IFRS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting under IFRS.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and journals.

• Analyse balance sheet movements and communicate drivers and risks.
• Maintain the fixed asset register with additions, disposals, transfers and depreciation.
• Assist audit processes with schedules and documentation.
• Maintain strong financial controls and drive reporting improvements.
• Provide ad hoc financial information on request.

Job description

Newly created role as Financial Accountant has arisen within a successful and growing business based in Hertford. It's the perfect next step for a qualified Accountant looking for a good working culture, long term progression and opportunity to take on more responsibility as the role develops. You will support the financial accounting and control activities across several divisions ensuring that accounting records are accurate, complete, well controlled and prepared in accordance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.

The role will contribute to the integrity of the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, audit preparation, statutory accounts support and financial compliance activities, while promoting continuous improvement in financial processes, controls and reporting quality.

Key Accountabilities

• Delivering accurate month end, quarter end and year end reporting under IFRS.
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and journals.
• Supporting technical accounting areas including revenue, accruals, provisions and inventory.
• Analyse and interpret balance sheet movements, clearly communicating underlying drivers, financial impacts and areas of risk to stakeholders.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring additions, disposals, transfers and depreciation are accurately recorded and appropriately supported.
• Support the internal and external audit process through the preparation and provision of audit schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation and responses to audit queries.
• Maintaining a strong financial control environment while identifying opportunities to improve reporting, governance and efficiencies.
• Provide ad hoc financial information requests as required.
• Other adhoc tasks as required.

The ideal candidate will have some industry experience in a similar role and exposure to reporting under IFRS, although candidates will also be considered straight from Practice as long as you have Accounts Preparation experience and not Audit alone.
