Hours:Commensurate with the position of your role within the organisation, you will be required to adopt a flexible approach to the hours worked and which may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties. The basic contractual hours will be Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, 37.5 hours per week, with an unpaid lunch break of half an hour.

Role
We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join our team based at our Head Office in Coventry. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the FC in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial records, ensuring all revenue & costs and income and liabilities are accurately recorded, reconciled and reviewed.
- Takes ownership of the monthly close process, analysing transactions, preparing required journals and working closely with the FP&A team to deliver accurate financials that reflect true trading performance for the UK and its subsidiaries.
- Uphold a robust control environment to ensure any risks are recorded, controlled and mitigated.
- Analyse, redesign, and recommend improvements to finance processes and systems by leveraging technology.
- Ownership of the Group HFM reporting requirements and adhering to the Group strict reporting deadlines.
- Reconciliation, reporting and agreeing Intercompany balances with Group counterparties.
- Preparation of VAT Return workings and associated reconciliations.
- Completing Balance Sheet account reconciliations to review and clear balance sheet control accounts monthly, including GRNI, VAT and payroll accounts, and maintaining appropriate documentation to support audits.
- Take ownership of the external and internal audit processes by working closely with the auditors and internal stakeholders to provide information and support to evidence as requested.

- Taking a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring risks and issues are identified, addressed and reported and, where appropriate, escalated.
- Provide training and coaching for members of the finance team who wish to continue with their finance careers. Provide leadership, direction and support including performance reviews for the Assistant Financial Accountant. Being fully aware of and actively complying with Fraikin’s policies and procedures relevant to your own responsibilities and to business policies and procedures including equality, sustainability and the environment, health and safety and data protection. Performing any other reasonable duties as directed by line management.

Person Specification (Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience)
- ACCA/ACA Qualified
- Expert knowledge of UK financial statements preparation in accordance with in IFRS Accounting Standards.
- Experience of developing, maintaining and running financial accounting systems and computerised accounting systems. M3 or other ERP desirable as well as HFM or other reporting systems.
- Successful track record of working with stakeholders to develop and maintain effective, open and productive working relationships.
- Experience of delivering priorities within strict timelines.
- Experience of commercial leasing and or asset management in PE backed group an advantage
- Strong ability to work flexibly - managing changing and competing priorities and absorbing new information rapidly to address complex issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and information to a range of audiences and stakeholders.
- A self-starter with a problem solving and inquiring mentality
- Strong ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, to work collaboratively to achieve objectives.
