• Owning the monthly group financial statements and management accounts
• Keeping the balance sheet in check — reconciliations, accuracy, control
• Managing a fixed asset register with over £300m NBV
• Leading cost centre reviews and explaining what’s really driving spend
• Supporting year-end accounts and external audit prep
• Working closely with department heads — not just reporting the numbers, but helping shape what comes next
• Line managing a brilliant Assistant Accountant
• Getting stuck into forecasting, planning and occasional M&A work
• Finding smarter ways to do things and improve processes

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with around 1–2 years' PQE
• A solid grounding in financial accounting and statutory reporting
• Someone who enjoys partnering with the wider business — translating the technical into something clear and useful
• Strong with Excel and good with systems (Dynamics would be a plus, but not essential)
• Curious, collaborative and takes pride in their work
