Addington Ball is representing a Financial Accountant opportunity based in Coventry. The role offers visibility and autonomy as the number two to the Finance Director, supporting UK business operations in delivering excellence in financial control.

The role covers all aspects of financial accounting with emphasis on general ledger, master data, fixed assets, treasury control and tax matters, with a view to long-term career development within an internationally exposed business.

Qualifications

• Qualified professional ACCA or ACA (ICAEW) seeking first move from practice
• Or proven experience in a finance function with GL, month end, tax & treasury

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage monthly and annual close
• General Ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and inter-company recharge processes
• Oversee treasury functions including cash management and liquidity forecasting
• Tax compliance for VAT and Corporation Tax with timely submissions
• Own the fixed asset register including impairment reviews and depreciation
• Manage credit control and posting/reconciling customer payments
• Assist external reporting and coordinate the audit process
• Oversee master data maintenance and reporting on key metrics

This Financial Accountant opportunity based in Coventry, delivers great visibility and autonomy as the number two to the Finance Director in the team.

Our client is an innovation-focused global manufacturer, and you will support the UK business operations in delivering excellence in financial control.

This all-encompassing role will focus on all areas of financial accounting with a particular emphasis on general ledger accounting, master data management, fixed assets, treasury control and tax matters.

It presents an opportunity to become a trusted right-hand to the Finance Director, influence key financial decisions, and build a long-term career within a successful business with international exposure.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and participate in monthly and annual close
• General Ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and inter-company recharges
• Handle all treasury functions including cash management, liquidity forecasting, daily bank reconciliations, administration & banking relationships
• Responsible for all areas of tax compliance with accurate on-time submissions for VAT and Corporation Tax
• Own the fixed asset register, impairment reviews, depreciation, capitalisation & disposal accounting
• Handle credit control, posting & reconciling customer payments
• External reporting including the annual Statutory Reporting and co-ordinating the audit process
• Responsibility for the company master data together with tracking and reporting on key metrics

Requirements:

• A Qualified professional, either ACCA or ACA (ICAEW) seeking first move from practice
• Or, proven experience in a finance function, with a focus on general ledger financial accounting, month end, tax & treasury
• Own the role, able to support and be a reliable Number 2 to the Finance Director - be their 'right-hand' person
• Confident communication skills at all business levels, both internally and externally
