Job summary

Hartford Care Ltd. is seeking a Financial Accountant to help safeguard the integrity of our Group financial reporting.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will manage month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory reporting across multiple entities. The role requires Part-qualified ACA/ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA, strong accounting experience, knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS, and solid Excel/ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified professional required with progressing towards full qualification (ACA/ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA).
• Strong accounting skills in a multi-entity environment with attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS, intercompany accounting, fixed assets and VAT/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions within the Group close timetable.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and clear aged or unsupported balances.
• Support the Group consolidation, including intercompany accounting, recharges and resolving differences.
• Maintain fixed-asset accounting, including additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Prepare statutory accounts schedules and audit evidence, and respond to audit queries.
• Support quarterly VAT returns and other tax compliance.
• Apply Group accounting policies consistently and escalate technical issues to the Group Financial Controller.
• Work with Transactions, Payroll, FP&A and operational teams to fix root causes of data and reconciliation issues.

What We’re Looking For

• Part-qualified ACA/ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, actively progressing towards full qualification
• Strong financial accounting experience in a complex, multi-entity environment
• Working knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, VAT and statutory accounts
• Clear, well-supported working papers and the ability to hit demanding month-end and statutory deadlines
• The confidence to challenge unsupported entries and drive issues through to resolution
• Intermediate Excel and strong experience of finance or ERP systems
