Job description

Contract initially until end of Sept 2026
Competitive Rate of Pay
About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced finance professional with a background in transformation, systems implementation or large-scale change programmes? Do you enjoy working across Finance, Technology and Business teams to drive successful project delivery?

Our client is seeking a Finance Transformation Lead to join a major organisation within the automotive financial services sector, supporting the delivery of a significant business and technology transformation programme. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the implementation of a new contract management platform for the corporate and fleet (B2B) business. Working at the heart of a high-profile transformation programme, you will help ensure Finance requirements, controls, risks and dependencies are successfully managed throughout the project lifecycle.

The role offers exposure to complex business change, stakeholder management and finance transformation activities within a highly regulated environment.

The Role

Working within the Finance Product Team, you will act as the key link between Finance, programme teams and external delivery partners, ensuring financial impacts are understood and Finance requirements are effectively represented throughout delivery.

Your primary focus will be the implementation of a new contract management system supporting the fleet side of the business. You will work closely with Finance subject matter experts, business analysts, developers, testers and senior stakeholders to coordinate deliverables, assess impacts and support successful programme outcomes.

This is a hybrid role combining elements of:

  • Finance and accounting
  • Business transformation
  • Project coordination
  • Systems implementation

Whilst a strong understanding of accounting and finance processes is essential, this is not a traditional accounting role. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating stakeholders, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring Finance is ready for change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Finance representative within the fleet systems transformation programme.
  • Assess and communicate the financial and operational impacts of system and process changes.
  • Coordinate Finance subject matter experts to ensure requirements and deliverables are completed to agreed timelines.
  • Support the definition and documentation of business requirements, accounting treatment and financial controls.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers and testing teams throughout the programme lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Technology and Programme teams.
  • Manage relationships with external implementation and delivery partners.
  • Identify, track and elevate programme risks, issues and dependencies as required.
  • Ensure alignment between the fleet systems programme and related initiatives, including payment solutions and wider Finance transformation activities.
  • Support data migration, reconciliation and Finance readiness activities.
  • Review User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure key financial controls and requirements are appropriately tested.
  • Contribute to process mapping, procedure development and operational readiness planning.
  • Provide regular project updates to Finance leadership and support programme governance activities.
  • Assist with training material development and support end-user adoption activities.
About You

We’re looking for a commercially minded finance professional who combines a strong understanding of accounting and Finance processes with experience delivering business change and transformation.

You will be comfortable working across multiple stakeholders, coordinating workstreams, influencing decisions and driving progress within complex programmes.

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience gained within a Finance environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, reconciliations and Finance operations.
  • Experience supporting or leading large-scale transformation, change or systems implementation programmes.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and coordinate across multiple teams and levels.
  • Experience working closely with both Finance and Technology functions.
  • Strong project coordination or programme delivery experience.
  • Ability to identify, manage and elevate risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, evolving programme environment.
  • Strong understanding of how operational and system changes impact Finance processes, reporting and controls.
Highly Desirable
  • Experience within automotive finance, fleet management, leasing, asset finance or wider financial services environments.
  • Knowledge of fleet products, services and business processes.
  • Experience working with Finance systems, ERP implementations or contract management platforms.
  • Exposure to large-scale Finance transformation programmes.
  • Formal project management or change management experience (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, Six Sigma or equivalent).
