Job summary

Burges Salmon is hiring a Finance Systems Accountant to join our Finance Systems team in Bristol. You’ll help develop and improve financial systems, data and controls, while collaborating with Finance and Technology colleagues to deliver reliable systems.

The role requires qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent), experience with finance system upgrades and SQL data analysis, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant (or equivalent).
• Experience with Aderant or previous experience working within the legal sector.
• Experience working in a finance systems, systems accounting or similar role.
• Experience of finance system upgrades, implementations or process improvement projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using SQL to query, analyse and interpret financial data.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and implementing finance systems improvements.
• Leading and supporting finance system upgrades, enhancements and testing activities.
• Reviewing current processes and recommending ways to improve efficiency, data quality and controls.
• Supporting the development of financial reports and dashboards.
• Working with stakeholders across the business to ensure our finance systems operate reliably and effectively.
• Delivering training and guidance on finance systems and processes to colleagues across the firm.
