Job summary

ICAEW in Liverpool is seeking a Finance Systems Project Support Officer on a fixed-term contract until June 2028. You will support system enhancements, gather requirements and assist in testing, documentation and reporting while working closely with Finance stakeholders.

The role requires attention to detail, strong IT skills (Excel/Word/Teams) and a proactive approach to learning. Hybrid working in Liverpool offers flexi-time and a clear development path within finance systems.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 3 (or working towards) in finance or related qualification.
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting finance, systems, administration or project-based activities.
• Experience maintaining reports, records, project documentation or management information.
• Strong IT skills including Excel, Word and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of finance systems projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with gathering business requirements and documenting system and process changes.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system reconciliations and financial data validation.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including action logs, risk registers, testing records and implementation plans.
• Assist with the production and maintenance of finance reports and management information.
• Support the administration of user access controls, workflows and finance system permissions.
• Ensure procedures and process documentation are kept accurate and up to date.
• Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation and system performance.
• Assist in the creation of user guides, training materials and process documentation.
• Liaise with stakeholders across the business to resolve system issues and understand operational requirements.
• Support compliance with financial controls, policies, procedures and audit requirements.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements across the Finance Systems function.
