Job summary

Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established organisation in Dorset to recruit a Systems & Projects Accountant to join their Finance team. The role blends accounting knowledge with finance systems, technology and process improvement to ensure systems run effectively.

Remote-first working with Dorset office attendance twice a month, focusing on developing and implementing enhancements, data integrity, reporting and stakeholder collaboration across the business.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting background with hands-on experience of finance systems administration, development or implementation.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with financial data, reporting tools and MI.
• Experience improving finance processes, supporting system changes or contributing to project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day management, administration and development of the organisation's finance systems.
• Work on finance systems projects, upgrades and implementations to deliver improvements across the business.
• Maintain system data, user access and financial structures, ensuring accuracy and appropriate controls.
• Develop and enhance financial reports and management information to support business decisions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting.
• Investigate and resolve system issues, working with internal teams and external providers.
• Support system testing, reconciliations and data integrity checks.
• Provide guidance and training to finance colleagues and other system users.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
