Job description

Location: This role is based on a hybrid working model, with an expectation of 2-3 days per week in either the Kent or London office, alongside regular collaboration with colleagues across the Group. Occasional travel to other Group locations may be required to support projects, system implementations and acquisition integrations.

About the Role

We are a private equity-backed, multi-entity group pursuing an ambitious growth strategy through a combination of organic expansion and acquisitions. As we continue to scale, we are seeking a Finance Systems Manager to lead the evolution of our finance systems landscape and ensure our systems, data and reporting capabilities support the next phase of growth.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with broad responsibility across finance systems, data governance, reporting, process improvement and acquisition integration. Working closely with Finance, IT and operational stakeholders, you will help deliver scalable, efficient and insight-driven processes across the Group.

The role is ideal for someone who combines strong finance systems expertise with a practical understanding of finance processes, data, reporting and change management. You will act as the bridge between Finance, Technology and the wider business, helping ensure our systems and reporting infrastructure can support a growing and acquisitive organisation.

Role Scope

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with responsibility for coordinating and delivering improvements across a broad finance systems landscape. Success will depend on building strong relationships across the Group, influencing stakeholders, and working through subject matter experts within Finance, IT and operational teams to deliver change.

The role holder will be expected to balance strategic improvement initiatives with day-to-day systems oversight, focusing effort on the areas that deliver the greatest business value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the Group's finance systems landscape, including NetSuite and other integrated business applications.
  • Define and deliver the finance systems roadmap, prioritising enhancements, automation and technology-enabled efficiencies.
  • Manage system vendors, implementation partners and key internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve finance and business processes through better use of technology.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve efficiency, reporting and decision-making.
  • Control user access management, segregation of duties, and system security/permissions
Acquisition & Integration Support
  • Lead the systems and reporting integration of acquired businesses into the Group.
  • Support acquisition projects through data migration, data mapping, validation and harmonisation activities.
  • Ensure acquired businesses are aligned to Group systems, reporting structures and data standards.
  • Support the development of scalable systems and processes capable of supporting future acquisitions and growth.
Data & Reporting
  • Own the governance, quality and consistency of financial and operational data across relevant systems.
  • Establish common data standards, reporting structures and KPI definitions across the Group.
  • Lead the development of reporting, dashboards and management information to support decision-making.
  • Drive the adoption of reporting, analytics and AI-enabled solutions to improve business insight and operational performance.
Systems Integration & Process Improvement
  • Oversee integrations and data flows between finance and operational systems, ensuring information is captured, transferred and reported consistently.
  • Support system implementations, upgrades and transformation projects across the Group.
  • Work with Finance, IT and operational teams to improve end-to-end business processes and eliminate manual effort.
  • Ensure finance systems effectively support core processes including record-to-report, order-to-cash and procure-to-pay.
Controls & Stakeholder Support
  • Maintain appropriate system controls, governance and audit trails.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements relating to systems and data.
  • Act as the primary contact for finance systems, reporting and data-related matters.
  • Provide training and guidance to improve system adoption and data quality across the Group.
  • Lead change management activity associated with new systems, process changes and reporting improvements, ensuring effective communication, training and adoption across the business.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience supporting NetSuite in a finance environment
  • Proven track record in finance systems, systems accounting, finance transformation or related roles.
  • Experience supporting finance systems within a multi-entity organisation.
  • Proven experience managing system integrations, data migrations and cross-system data flows.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience working closely with qualified finance teams and translating finance requirements into practical system solutions.
  • Experience delivering system and process improvements in a growing business environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and project delivery skills.
  • Strong interest in leveraging automation, technology and AI to improve efficiency and insight.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed business.
  • Experience supporting acquisitive growth and post-acquisition integration activities.
  • Experience working in international and/or multi-currency environments.
  • Exposure to business intelligence, analytics or reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite and associated finance technologies.
  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience.
Personal Attributes
  • Commercially minded and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
  • Passionate about improving systems, data quality and business insight.
  • Strong influencer who can build engagement and drive adoption of change across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Able to deliver results through collaboration rather than direct line management.
  • Highly organised, proactive and solutions-focused.
  • Comfortable operating in a growing business where priorities may evolve.
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining a focus on the bigger picture.
  • Collaborative and effective at building relationships across finance, technology and operational teams.
