Job summary

Rutherford Cross is supporting a Glasgow-based organisation to appoint a Finance Systems Implementation Lead for a 12-month period. You will lead payroll system selection and deployment, and drive improvements in finance systems, reporting and data quality.

The role requires an accountant either fully qualified or qualified by experience, with a track record of implementing financial systems, translating requirements into practical solutions and engaging stakeholders across Finance and HR.

Qualifications

• Qualified or ‘Qualified by Experience’ Accountant.
• Experience implementing, developing or embedding financial management systems.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into practical system and process solutions.
• Proven ability to implement change and engage stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead the selection and implementation of a new payroll system with Finance and HR.
• Evaluate solutions based on functionality, compliance, integration and cost.
• Manage the full project lifecycle including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, data migration, go-live and post-implementation review.
• Develop robust payroll processes, controls and documentation, ensuring compliance, data integrity and effective system integration.
• Drive payroll process improvements through automation and system integration.
• Lead the ongoing development and optimisation of the finance system to enhance reporting, budgeting, forecasting and user self-service.
• Translate business requirements into practical systems and process improvements.
• Work with software providers and IT partners to deliver enhancements, resolve issues and improve user experience.
• Ensure appropriate testing and controls are in place for system changes.
• Review and streamline finance processes to improve efficiency, scalability and data quality.
• Lead data validation, reconciliation and migration activities as required.
• Build strong relationships with budget holders and key stakeholders across the organisation to understand operational requirements, challenges and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll System Implementation:

• Lead the selection and implementation of a new payroll system in partnership with Finance and HR
