Job summary

Wise London is seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to own the Finance Systems estate as the company scales and implements SOX readiness post-listing. You will partner with Product and the CFO to modernise ERP and finance tooling, and shape AI-native finance operations at Wise.

Over the next 2–3 years you will build the engineering foundations for SOX, drive architectural excellence, and improve deployment, observability, and governance across critical financial platforms.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering and 5+ years leading engineering teams in finance, fintech, or regulated domains.
• Experience with Tier 1 ERPs and at least one major migration or modernization programme led on the engineering side.
• SOX or equivalent control-environment experience with engineering practices that withstand external audit.
• Architectural range across vendor config, custom extensions, integration middleware, and event-driven patterns.
• Strong CFO-facing stakeholder fluency and ability to align cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical strategy and multi-year roadmap for Finance Systems and ERP platforms.
• Lead, hire, and grow a senior engineering team with a focus on correctness and auditability.
• Build SOX engineering foundations, controls, and change-management practices for compliance.
• Drive deployment frequency, observability, incident response, and change control for finance ops tooling.
• Collaborate with Finance and Product to translate priorities into a credible engineering plan.
