Job summary

Wise is seeking a principal engineer to lead the Finance Systems estate as we modernise ERP and finance tooling in a post-SOX readiness and US-listing context. You will partner with Finance and Product to set strategy and shape the engineering foundations for scalable, auditable operations.

Qualifications

12+ years in software engineering with 5+ years leading teams in finance or regulated domains.
Experience with Tier 1 ERPs and at least one migration or modernization programme led by you.
SOX or equivalent control-environment experience with auditable practices.
Strong architectural and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Set architecture and multi-year roadmap for ERP and finance platforms.
Lead, hire, and grow a senior engineering team with high quality standards.
Build SOX tooling, controls and change-management practices.
Drive deployment frequency, observability, incident response, and change control.
Co-own the roadmap with Finance and Product translating priorities into a solid plan.
Drive AI-enabled finance tooling and automation decisions.
