Somerset Council’s Finance and Procurement team is seeking a Finance Systems Analyst to develop and improve the council's finance and ERP systems. You will work closely with Finance, ICT, and suppliers to deliver system changes, enhancements and data reporting.

This role sits within the Building Better Finance programme, enabling you to drive improvements in financial management, procurement and reporting across the organisation, with a focus on reliability, security and effective system design.

Qualifications

• Experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards for Finance/HR functions.
• Experience supporting/configuring/administrating complex finance or ERP systems.
• Strong ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into practical system solutions.
• Experience investigating and resolving complex system issues and implementing system changes.
• Knowledge of finance systems, financial controls, accounting processes and reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and data reporting skills with clear communication of technical information.

• Develop reporting solutions and use data analysis to support decision-making and service improvement.
• Help maintain strong financial controls, data accuracy, governance and compliance through effective system design.
• Analyse business processes and requirements to identify opportunities for system improvements and automation.
• Configure, maintain and develop finance systems, workflows, reporting tools and related applications.
• Lead and support the functional delivery of system changes, upgrades, testing and implementation activities.
• Provide expert advice, guidance and support to system users and stakeholders across the Council.
