Morson Edge, recruiting on behalf of GKN Aerospace, seeks an experienced Interim Finance SOP & Process Standardisation Specialist to join Filton, Bristol for a 3–4 month contract. This hands-on role focuses on reviewing, developing and embedding Finance SOPs to create clear, consistent, and sustainable ways of working across finance and shared service teams.

Responsibilities

• Review existing finance processes and identify inconsistencies in ways of working.
• Develop and document finance SOPs across key processes: AP, AR, Inventory, Intercompany, Month-End Close.
• Implement controls and governance measures across finance processes.
• Support standardisation across shared service and operational finance teams.
• Run workshops with stakeholders to capture current and future state processes.
• Coach and train teams to adopt new procedures.
• Ensure documentation is clear, sustainable, and embedded in daily operations.

Finance SOP & Process Standardisation Specialist

Rate: £350–£650 per day, depending on experience

About the Role

Morson are recruiting on behalf of GKN Aerospace for an experienced Interim Finance SOP & Process Standardisation Specialist to join their Finance and Shared Services operations in Filton on a 3–4-month contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, developing, and embedding Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to establish clear, consistent, and sustainable ways of working across finance and shared service teams.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who has practical experience developing and implementing finance SOPs and can quickly identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and deliver results within a short contract period.

Key Responsibilities

• Review existing finance processes and identify inconsistencies in ways of working.
• Develop and document finance SOPs across key processes, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Intercompany, and Month-End Close.
• Implement practical process controls and governance measures.
• Support process standardisation across shared service and operational finance teams.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to document current and future-state processes.
• Support the adoption of new procedures through training, coaching, and communication.
• Ensure processes are clearly documented, sustainable, and embedded within day-to-day operations.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience developing and implementing Finance SOPs within medium to large organisations.
• Previous experience working within shared service environments and driving process standardisation.
• A strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes and controls.
• A practical, delivery-focused approach with the ability to work independently.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• The ability to quickly assess process gaps, recommend improvements, and implement solutions.

We are looking for someone with proven experience in SOP development and process embedding who can make an immediate impact. This is a hands‑on delivery role rather than a strategic transformation leadership position.
