Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking an experienced Interim Finance SOP & Process Standardisation Specialist to join the Finance and Shared Services operations in Filton on a 3–4‑month contract. You will review, develop, and embed Finance SOPs to create clear, consistent, and sustainable ways of working across finance teams.

The role is hands-on, requiring the ability to identify process gaps, implement improvements quickly, and engage stakeholders through training and coaching to embed new procedures.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to document current and future-state processes.
• Train, coach, and communicate to adopt new procedures.
• Ensure processes are clearly documented, sustainable, and embedded in day-to-day operations.

Finance SOP & Process Standardisation Specialist

About the Role

Morson are recruiting on behalf of GKN Aerospace for an experienced Interim Finance SOP & Process Standardisation Specialist to join their Finance and Shared Services operations in Filton on a 3–4-month contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, developing, and embedding Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to establish clear, consistent, and sustainable ways of working across finance and shared service teams.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who has practical experience developing and implementing finance SOPs and can quickly identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and deliver results within a short contract period.

Key Responsibilities

Review existing finance processes and identify inconsistencies in ways of working.
Develop and document finance SOPs across key processes, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Intercompany, and Month-End Close.
Implement practical process controls and governance measures.
Support process standardisation across shared service and operational finance teams.
Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to document current and future-state processes.
Support the adoption of new procedures through training, coaching, and communication.
Ensure processes are clearly documented, sustainable, and embedded within day-to-day operations.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience developing and implementing Finance SOPs within medium to large organisations.
Previous experience working within shared service environments and driving process standardisation.
A strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes and controls.
A practical, delivery-focused approach with the ability to work independently.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
The ability to quickly assess process gaps, recommend improvements, and implement solutions.

We are looking for someone with proven experience in SOP development and process embedding who can make an immediate impact. This is a hands‑on delivery role rather than a strategic transformation leadership position.

The role would suit an experienced Finance Process Improvement Specialist, Finance Operations Manager, or Shared Services Process Lead with a strong track record of developing and embedding finance procedures.
