Job summary

BMW Group in Farnborough invites a placement year student to join Risk and Treasury Controlling within the Finance Department. You’ll support forecasting, budgeting risk costs, monthly risk provisions, and adhoc queries while gaining hands-on experience with inter-company loan requests and interest rate swaps.

Expected to complete Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, SAS (GUI), and basic SQL; you’ll present findings to Management Committees and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Education in relevant field (Accounting/Finance/Economics) with numerical modules.
• Strong Excel skills and willingness to advance in Excel-related tasks.
• Learning SAS via point-and-click interface to create queries and reports for business data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Gain industry experience with real responsibilities such as weekly inter-company loan requests and interest rate swaps.
• Take ownership of weekly and monthly reporting tasks.
• Build skills using Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, SAS and basic SQL; opportunities to present to Management.
• Shadow colleagues across Risk Controlling and Treasury to understand the wider business.
