Job summary

Northern Powergrid is seeking a Reporting Accountant SME to provide subject matter expertise across Finance reporting, management information, regulatory and statutory reporting, and financial data consumption as part of our Finance transformation programme.

The role acts as the primary business representative for Finance reporting, ensuring timely, accurate information for governance, compliance and decision-making across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Finance reporting, management accounting or regulatory reporting.
• Strong understanding of how financial data is generated and consumed across Finance processes.
• Experience designing and owning management and financial reporting solutions.
• Proven ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders to define requirements.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations or reporting system changes.
• Excellent data quality, governance and controls understanding.

Responsibilities

• Act as programme Subject Matter Expert for Finance reporting and data consumption.
• Define and validate reporting requirements across Finance and wider functions.
• Translate requirements into reporting designs, hierarchies and data models.
• Support SIT/UAT and business validation activities.
• Support data migration, reconciliation and validation affecting reporting outputs.
• Collaborate with AP, AR, GL, Treasury, and Group Reporting SMEs to cover end‑to‑end processes.
• Identify opportunities for reporting automation and standardisation.
• Ensure outputs support governance, compliance and future growth.
