Job summary

HFG Insurance Recruitment is partnering with an established insurance business in Manchester to recruit a Finance Optimisation Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role focuses on developing, maintaining and improving finance systems, with emphasis on Workday and DUCO, analytics and automation.

You will build workflows, enhance reporting, support reconciliations and drive process improvements across multiple systems in a hands-on capacity.

Qualifications

• Experience in Finance Systems, Data Analytics, Reporting, Automation or Finance Transformation.
• Hands-on with Workday and/or DUCO would be highly advantageous.
• Experience developing, building or improving reporting solutions, workflows or automated processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify practical improvements.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with Alteryx, Sigma or Anaplan would also be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve existing workflows to increase efficiency, reduce manual processes and strengthen financial controls.
• Develop and enhance reporting capabilities within Workday, including composite reports and discovery boards.
• Support DUCO reconciliation processes, including improving matching rules, reconciliation logic and automation.
• Analyse financial data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for process improvement.
• Collaborate with Finance and Technology stakeholders to understand requirements and implement effective solutions.
• Support system enhancements, testing, upgrades and wider finance transformation initiatives.
• Improve data accuracy, reporting quality and operational efficiency.
• Explore opportunities to introduce automation and AI-driven improvements.

HFG are currently partnering with an established insurance business seeking a Finance Optimisation Analyst to join their Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual with a background in finance systems, data analytics, reporting or process automation who enjoys improving workflows, enhancing reporting capabilities and delivering practical solutions.

This is not a traditional accounting or FP&A position. The successful candidate will be hands-on in developing, maintaining and improving existing finance systems, with a particular focus on Workday and DUCO.

Key Responsibilities
