Job summary

UKSBS is hiring a Finance Specialist for the Finance Service Delivery team. The role covers high‑volume financial processing across AP/AR/payments and general ledger to support client delivery.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of financial processes and accounting principles (e.g. double entry, reconciliations).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with ability to interpret and present financial data.
  • Proficiency in Excel or equivalent tools, including formulas and data manipulation.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies with structured analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain financial reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, identifying reconciling items and taking appropriate action to clear within agreed timelines.
  • Prepare and process financial journals, ensuring adjustments are accurate, supported and compliant with accounting standards.
  • Analyse financial data, identifying trends, variances and issues to support reporting and decision‑making.
  • Support production of financial reports, including period-end outputs and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Manage and resolve queries, acting as a point of contact for finance-related questions from stakeholders and clients.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and clients to ensure timely resolution of issues and alignment of financial data.
  • Apply financial controls and governance requirements, ensuring compliance with policies, audit requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Support audit and assurance activity, providing information, explanations and documentation as required.
  • Manage own workload, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines, SLAs and reporting cycles.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including desk notes and process guidance.

Finance Specialist - Finance Service Delivery

Band C: Salary - £27,756

Due to continued growth, we are now seeking experienced Finance Specialists to join our Finance Service Delivery team.

The teams across Finance Service Delivery process a range of financial transactions and ensure procedures and processes are followed to deliver a high-quality service to our clients.

You will be working as part of a high performing team managing high volumes on a daily basis, this could be in one of a variety of Finance roles, like Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payments Team or general ledger Team, to support the delivery of key transaction services to our clients.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

To be considered for the role, you will need the following:

Successful candidates may be required to undergo Security Clearance (National Security Vetting) as part of their employment. To meet these standards, applicants must normally have lived in the UK for at least the last five years and be able to satisfy background, identity and criminal record checks.
