Job summary

University of Warwick is seeking a proactive Senior Finance and Resources Assistant to join the Maths Finance Team in Coventry. The role supports purchasing, expenses, contracts, reporting and financial compliance across the department.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will coordinate day-to-day financial activities, respond to staff queries, oversee transactions, and mentor the Finance and Resources Assistant while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• AAT/Part 1 CIMA or equivalent financial qualification.
• Substantial experience using finance systems such as SAP, OPeRA, Concur or similar.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Advanced Excel and IT skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Supporting purchasing, expenses, billing, non-staff payroll and contract processes.
• Promoting compliance with financial regulations and procedures.
• Assisting with quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Supporting the financial administration of studentships, internships and non-research projects.
• Maintaining effective financial controls and processes.
• Supporting the monitoring of research projects in the department.
• Building positive relationships with academic, professional services and external stakeholders.
