Job description

A role at The Chief of Staff Association

Finance Operations Associate

London · On site

Keep CSA’s global finance running smoothly, leveraging AI to manage invoices, billing and month-end while improving workflows and helping shape operations. Full-time, five days a week in London.

The Chief of Staff Association (CSA) is the world's leading professional community for chiefs of staff. We exist to define, elevate, and advance the chief of staff role, equipping our members with the tools, knowledge, connections, and credentials they need to operate at the highest level.

Through our membership programmes, executive education, coaching, and talent services, we serve a global community of chiefs of staff and the organisations that rely on them. Our two core service lines, Membership and Talent, work in close partnership to deliver exceptional value to members, candidates, and client organisations alike.

If you are passionate about the impact a great chief of staff can have, and want to help shape the profession's future, we'd love to meet you.

About the Role

Our finance team supports a growing global business, and this role keeps day-to-day finance operations running smoothly: paying suppliers, billing clients and keeping the month end on schedule.

You will report to the Head of Finance and work closely with the finance team and colleagues across every office, and we are looking for someone who learns quickly and takes ownership.

This will be a full-time role based 5 days/week in our London, UK headquarters. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK; we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may evolve as the function matures but generally align to the following core areas:

  • Process supplier invoices and expenses accurately and on time, and keep supplier records up to date.
  • Raise client invoices, track payments and follow up on overdue balances.
  • Support the financial month end close.
  • Keep our day-to-day finance workflows running accurately and up to date.
  • Spot where manual tasks could be automated and help put those improvements in place.
  • Support ad hoc finance projects as they arise.
You May Be a Fit If

You have one to three years’ experience in a finance, accounts or operations role.

You have worked in a small or fast-growing business, where you picked up a broad mix of tasks and are comfortable when priorities change.

You are organised and accurate, notice when something does not look right and raise it early.

You are confident with technology, pick up new systems quickly and already use AI tools in your daily work.

You take ownership of your work from start to finish and ask good questions when something is unclear.

You communicate clearly and professionally with clients, suppliers and colleagues in different countries.

You May Not Be a Fit If

You would rather follow established processes than help shape them; our systems and ways of working are still evolving.

You are not comfortable using AI and automation tools as a regular part of your work.

Base salary: £35,000-40,000 depending on experience.

Benefits and Perks
  • You will receive 25 days’ annual leave plus eight bank holidays, 10 days’ paid sick leave, and private medical insurance, fully funded for you, subject to scheme eligibility and rules.
  • You will also join our workplace pension scheme, receive a professional development stipend to support your learning and career development, and have access to CSA training materials along with the opportunity to complete the Chief of Staff Association Certification.

At The Chief of Staff Association, you will work alongside top-notch group of professionals who are passionate about the chief of staff role, who personify the following values:

  • We Lead with Authenticity
  • We Align for Impact
  • We Advance What's Possible
  • We Tailor with Expertise
  • We Own the Outcome
Selection Process
