Job summary

Anne Corder Recruitment client is seeking a motivated Finance Officer to join the team. You’ll work closely with Finance and Operational teams, handling day-to-day finance, management accounts, purchasing and cost control to keep business operations running smoothly.

The role suits someone qualified by experience or AAT qualified/working towards, with strong Excel and keen attention to detail to support the wider business.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or working towards an accountancy qualification.
• Experience in management accounts or financial reporting.
• Good understanding of budgets and costs.
• Strong numerical ability with attention to detail.
• Excellent Excel and IT skills.
• Experience using finance systems or databases.
• Understanding of purchasing, stock and cashflow.
• Ability to spot and investigate cost variances.
• Good communication with non-finance colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly management accounts.
• Ensure financial information is accurate and up to date.
• Record and allocate costs to correct areas.
• Support the month-end process.
• Review actual costs against budgets and forecasts.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow data.
• Monitor labour, purchasing, stock and other costs in accounts.
• Work with managers to understand financial results.
• Support audits and maintain supporting records.
• Assist with supplier management and cost information.
• Maintain stock levels and lead times with the team.
• Produce simple reports for Finance and Ops teams.
• Help improve reporting and processes where appropriate.
