Job summary

Alder Hey Children’s Charity is seeking a Finance Officer to join the finance team based at Alder Hey in Liverpool. The role will work under the Head of Finance to manage day-to-day financial operations, support month-end processes, and contribute to financial controls.

There is potential for progression and training opportunities including an AAT apprenticeship. The post requires handling transactional finance tasks, reconciliations, and collaboration across teams.

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities to interpret financial information.
• Clear written and verbal communication and ability to work confidentially.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase and sales invoices with approvals.
• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers; reconcile supplier statements.
• Support credit control and follow up overdue payments.
• Code income and expenditure in finance and CRM systems.
• Prepare weekly supplier payments and assist with reconciliations.
