Job summary

Vida Education are seeking an experienced School Finance Officer for a Lancashire school, offering flexible hours and potential permanent placement. The role requires hands-on use of Finance 6 and Finance 3 within a school context, handling payments, reconciliations and banking operations directly from the school’s accounts.

The ideal candidate will manage finance tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring accurate records and timely reporting, while adhering to school procedures and safeguarding

Qualifications

• Previous experience using Finance 6 within a school is essential.
• Must have experience making payments and completing reconciliations from a school's own bank accounts.
• Previous experience working in a school finance role.
• Strong understanding of school financial procedures and processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage financial responsibilities confidently.
• Good communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage payments directly from the school's own bank accounts.
• Complete bank reconciliations, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
• Use Finance 6 to process and maintain financial transactions.
• Process purchase orders, supplier invoices and payments.
• Monitor income and expenditure, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial transactions.
• Support the school's day-to-day financial operations.
• Maintain accurate financial records in line with school procedures.
