Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Ltd is recruiting a Finance Officer for a community-focused housing association in the Stirling area. The role sits within a small Finance and Corporate Services team and focuses on maintaining financial integrity while providing clear financial information to colleagues, senior leaders and the Board.

The position offers hybrid working with home days on Monday and Friday and office-based work Tuesday to Thursday.

Qualifications

• Minimum HND in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in housing/public sector finance is desirable.
• Experience using financial systems and advanced Excel.
• Ability to prepare reports for senior leaders and boards.
• Experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial ledgers, rent accounting, purchase ledger controls and month-end reconciliations.
• Support cash-flow forecasting, annual budgets, management accounts, statutory accounts and external audit.
• Oversee payroll administration, PAYE, pensions, HMRC payments, factoring invoices and tenant recharges.
• Supervise the Finance & Corporate Services Adviser and improve financial procedures, reporting and systems.

Morgan Hunt is recruiting a Finance Officer for a community-focused housing association in the Stirling area.

This is a broad, responsible position within a small Finance and Corporate Services team. You will help protect the organisation's financial viability while providing clear financial information to colleagues, senior leaders and the Board.

Working arrangements

• Home working on Mondays and Fridays
• Office attendance Tuesday to Thursday
• Flexible start and finish times
• Up to seven hours of flexitime within each four-week cycle
• EVH Grade 7 salary of £42,707 to £46,895

Appointment above the first salary point may be considered depending on relevant experience and qualifications.

Your responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial ledgers, rent accounting, purchase ledger controls and month-end reconciliations.
• Support cash-flow forecasting, annual budgets, management accounts, statutory accounts and external audit.

You should be able to demonstrate:

• Success within a varied finance role
• Experience using financial systems and advanced Excel
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
• Experience working to deadlines within a regulated environment
• Preparation of reports for senior leaders, Boards or committees
• The ability to supervise, support or develop another employee
• A minimum HND in Accounting or an equivalent qualification supported by significant relevant experience

Helpful experience

The following would be advantageous:

• Social housing, charity or public-sector finance
• Rent accounting, factoring or tenant recharges
• SDM or another housing-management system
• Budget monitoring, cash-flow forecasting and audit support
• CCAB qualification or progress towards qualification

Housing experience is desirable but not essential. Candidates with strong transferable experience from another regulated or purpose-led environment are encouraged to apply.
