Morgan Hunt is recruiting a Finance Officer for a well-established housing association in Glasgow City Centre. The role is a temporary 3-month contract with potential for extension or permanent opportunities, offering 35 hours per week and a competitive hourly rate of £18-£22. You will join the finance team to manage day-to-day financial operations, including purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations and housing income processing. Initial office-based role with potential for hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance or accounts role.
• Practical experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using financial systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Purchase and sales ledger: Process invoices, supplier payments, BACS transactions and customer receipts.
• Reconciliations: Complete bank reconciliations, maintain cashbooks and reconcile control accounts.
• Housing income: Process rental income, housing benefit payments and factoring receipts.
• Month-end support: Maintain accurate financial records, resolve queries and assist with reporting deadlines.

The Opportunity

Morgan Hunt is recruiting a Finance Officer for a well-established housing association in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional seeking their next temporary assignment within the social housing sector. You'll join a supportive finance team, assisting with day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate financial records. The position is initially for three months, with potential for extension or a permanent opportunity.

The role is initially office-based, with potential for hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase and sales ledger: Process invoices, supplier payments, BACS transactions and customer receipts.
• Reconciliations: Complete bank reconciliations, maintain cashbooks and reconcile control accounts.
• Housing income: Process rental income, housing benefit payments and factoring receipts.
• Month-end support: Maintain accurate financial records, resolve queries and assist with reporting deadlines.

About You

Essential:

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role.
• Practical experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using financial systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

• Previous experience within a housing association or social housing organisation.
• Experience processing rental income or housing benefit payments.
• An AAT qualification or equivalent accounting experience.
