Job summary

Worksop College and Ranby House is seeking a Finance Officer to join the finance team in a full-time, permanent role at our Worksop campus. You will support the Head of Finance with transactional accounting, process purchases, invoices and expenses, and assist with cash management and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the purchase ledger daily and input invoices into the accounting software.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure purchase orders are authorised by the appropriate budget holder and matched to invoices.
• Review the purchase ledger regularly and resolve supplier queries.
• Handle pupil pocket money requests and reconciliations.
• Maintain and reconcile cash accounts and floats.
• Bank cash and cheques promptly.
• Act as front desk for the finance department, assisting pupils and staff.
• Collect and distribute department post daily.
• Keep records in line with school policies and audit requirements.
• Follow financial regulations, policies and procedures.

About the role

Worksop College and Ranby House is a single school community spread across two sites, educating children aged two to eighteen. The school has excellent facilities in a beautiful setting, and it values every pupil's individual strengths, whether academic, sporting, musical or creative.

As Finance Officer, you will support the Head of Finance with the school's transactional accounting. You will look after the purchase ledger, process purchase orders, invoices and expenses, and help with cash management and bank reconciliations. The department's records need to be up to date every day so that reports are accurate and on time. You will also be the first point of contact for pupils and staff who come to the finance office.
