About the Role

We are currently seeking a meticulous and proactive Finance Officer to join our finance team in Belfast. This role is ideal for someone with a strong financial background who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage both routine accounting and more strategic finance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are recorded and reconciled.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, including issuing invoices and processing payments.
• Payroll processing in collaboration with HR and ensure compliance with statutory obligations. This includes calculating wages, overtime, deductions, and preparing pay slips.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and budgets.
• Prepare and submit HMRC returns (VAT, PAYE, etc.) and support audit requirements.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and other financial stakeholders.
• Monitor company expenditure and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Provide general financial administrative support to management as needed.
• Answering employee and client queries about pay, deductions, and other payroll-related issues.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Working knowledge of UK accounting standards and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with finance software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
• A relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance (AAT, ACCA part-qualified, or similar).
• Experience in payroll or in the healthcare sector is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across teams.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous and accurate in handling financial transactions and data.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies and issues.
