Brampton Recruitment Ltd is working with a growing charity in the Staffordshire area to recruit a part-time Finance Manager based in Stoke-on-Trent. The role reports to the CEO and sits within Leadership and Management teams, responsible for the entire finance function and payroll oversight.

The successful candidate will drive financial insight for decision-making, maintain controls, and ensure regulatory compliance as the organisation expands its services and footprint.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar senior finance position
• Strong understanding of financial management, management accounts, cashflow and forecasting
• Third sector experience preferred
• Experience maintaining robust financial controls and processes
• Ability to interpret financial information for non-finance colleagues
• Proactive, practical approach and strong attention to detail
• Experience developing and supporting a small finance team

Responsibilities

Our client is a growing, outward-looking charity providing services to the local community. The organisation has a small, high-performing finance function and is continuing to expand its services and geographical footprint. This role will be managing one team member and will hold full responsibility for the finance function.

We are recruiting for an experienced part-time Finance Manager, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working as part of the Leadership, Senior Management and Management Teams, the part-time Finance Manager will play a key role in ensuring strong financial management, effective controls and regulatory compliance across the organisation.

The successful candidate will provide clear financial insight to the CEO and senior management team, supporting informed decision-making around organisational performance, cash flow, risk and future investment.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and overseeing the day-to-day finance function
• Managing the monthly financial reporting cycle, including management accounts, cashflow and forecasting
• Providing clear and meaningful financial information and insight to the CEO and senior management team
• Supporting financial planning and decision-making as the organisation expands its services and geographical reach
• Ensuring robust financial controls, processes and procedures are maintained
• Monitoring financial performance, cashflow and risk
• Supporting investment and financial planning decisions
• Line managing and supporting the Finance Officer, who is responsible for monthly payroll
• Working closely with external auditors, banking providers, funders, commissioners and finance software/support providers
• Building effective working relationships with senior colleagues, service managers and other key stakeholders
• Supporting the organisation to remain financially compliant, well controlled and sustainable

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar senior finance position
• Strong understanding of financial management, management accounts, cashflow and forecasting
• Must have third sector experience
• Experience of maintaining effective financial controls and processes
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and communicate it clearly to non-finance colleagues
• Accounting qualification would be advantageous, but QBE is also considered
• Experience of supporting senior management with financial decision-making
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage, develop and support a small finance team
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive, practical approach with the ability to identify issues and provide effective solutions
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and external organisations

This role is commutable from: Stoke-on-Trent, Longton, Hanley, Burslem, Newcastle-under Lyme, Trentham, Blythe Bridge, Stone, Stafford and surrounding areas.

Hours:

Part-time 27.5 hours per week

Salary:

£31,358.17 per annum
