Job Description
Role Purpose
- To support the Team Leader – Oracle Cloud Support (Financial Systems Team) in providing system support for budget monitoring and development (EPM) and maintaining Financial systems (ERP), including user setup, system queries via the call logging portal, and providing advice and guidance to Finance Business Partners across the council.
- To maintain and develop financial systems, ensuring they reflect Council structures to support accountability, ownership of budgets, and facilitate financial reporting to Cabinet and statutory bodies.
- To support the setup and maintenance of EPM, AP, AR, P2P systems, liaising with Financial Systems Leads to ensure correct user access.
Responsibilities
- Support the Team Leader – Oracle Cloud Support in aligning financial systems with the Council’s management structure to maintain ownership and accountability for budgets and financial activities.
- Assist in review exercises to ensure correct user setup, reporting lines, access levels, and authority in EPM & ERP systems, reflecting the Council’s requirements, schemes of delegation, and segregation of duties.
- Support system maintenance activities, including updating, creating, and ending codes, in accordance with statutory reporting requirements, following approval processes and SERCOP rules.
- Reconcile the Council’s staffing establishment and ensure it is accurately reflected within the financial systems, aligning with budget holders (EPM support task).
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in local government finance.
- Experience using financial systems within large, complex organizations.
- First-year pass in a professional CCAB accounting qualification or equivalent experience.
- AAT fully qualified or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to work flexibly.
