Job description

To support the Team Leader - Oracle Cloud Support (Financial Systems Team) in providing system support for budget monitoring and development, including the management of Financial Systems (ERP) and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), user setup, and handling system queries via the call logging portal. This role involves offering advice and guidance to Finance Business Partners across the council.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and develop financial systems to reflect Council structures, ensuring accountability and ownership of budgets, and supporting financial reporting to Cabinet and statutory bodies.
2. Support the maintenance of EPM, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) systems, liaising with Financial Systems Leads to ensure proper user access.
3. Align financial systems with the Council's management structure, supporting ownership and accountability of financial activity.
4. Conduct review exercises to ensure correct user setup, access levels, and reporting lines in EPM & ERP systems, reflecting the Council's requirements and segregation of duties.
5. Support system updates such as creating, updating, and ending codes in compliance with statutory reporting requirements and approval processes, considering SERCOP rules.
6. Reconcile the Council's staffing establishment within financial systems, ensuring alignment with budget holders.

Role Purpose:

To provide comprehensive support for financial systems, ensuring they are correctly maintained, reflect organizational structures, and support statutory and managerial reporting requirements.

Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in local government finance.
• Experience using financial systems within large, complex organizations.
• First-year pass in a professional CCAB accounting qualification or equivalent experience.
• AAT fully qualified or equivalent, or relevant experience.
• Willingness to work flexibly.
