NFP People in Northampton seeks an experienced Finance Manager to own a multi‑company finance function. You’ll produce monthly management accounts, oversee intercompany activity, VAT returns and year‑end support, while mentoring two part‑time staff and partnering with Directors.

The role blends hands‑on numbers with strategic insight, requires strong Sage Line 50 and Excel skills, and offers hybrid working and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a busy finance function with multi‑company ownership.
• Strong understanding of month‑end, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Proficiency with VAT returns and intercompany reconciliations.
• Hands‑on with Sage Line 50 and Excel for reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts across five companies.
• Manage month‑end processes, ensure accuracy of transactions.
• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
• Provide financial analysis and commentary for Directors.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cashflow information.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable and credit control.
