Job summary

Nene Warehouse Solutions is seeking a Finance Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end finance function in a hands-on role. Office-based in Watford, you will work with a small transactional team to manage ledger control, cash flow forecasting, tax compliance, audit and monthly management accounts.

The successful candidate will ensure accounting records are accurate and up to date, and produce clear management information for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or QBE with substantial technical accounts experience.
• Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Manufacturing background is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day finance function, supported by a small transactional team
• Maintain a rolling cash flow forecast, optimising working capital
• Support the payment run covering suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare weekly and monthly payroll information
• Prepare and reconcile VAT returns, ensuring appropriate treatment of transactions
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheets ensuing reconciling items are investigated and cleared
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and payment obligations to HMRC, including PAYE, CIS, CT & VAT
• Oversee the production of the monthly management accounts, providing detailed commentary and bridging to budget
• Lead annual budgeting and reforecasting cycle
• Weekly reporting to senior management, giving a consolidated view of the group’s trial balance
• Preparation of year-end statutory accounts
• Ad hoc reporting as required

Role Overview

The Finance Manager will take ownership of the end-to-end finance function. Although supported by a small transactional team, this is a broad, hands-on role covering ledger control, cash flow forecasting, tax compliance, audit and overseeing the monthly management accounts.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working across all areas of finance and taking responsibility for ensuring that the underlying accounting records are accurate, complete and up to date.

This role requires someone who is equally comfortable processing and reviewing transactions as they are producing management information and explaining financial performance.

Benefits & Additional Information

• Normal working hours are 8 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid break each working day. The role may occasionally require working outside these hours.
