Job summary

Science Group plc in Cambridge is seeking a Business Finance Manager for the Sagentia Innovation Practice on a fixed term full-time basis. You will work with senior leadership to understand performance, interpret financial results and KPIs to maximise cash and profitability, and implement changes to processes and controls.

This hands-on role reports to the Finance Director, leads the local Finance team, and requires an accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/ACMA or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Eye for detail and curiosity to analyse information to provide meaningful analysis.
• Confidence to communicate financial information to staff without a financial background.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence across multiple stakeholders.
• Organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience interpreting financial information and presenting it to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of management accounts.
• Support P&L budgeting and forecasting.
• Own process adherence and drive improvements.
• Continual enhancement of reports, including heavy spreadsheet modelling.
• Support the Finance Director, Managing Director and Partners.
• Assist with group and divisional reporting, including commissions and cost analyses.
• Bids and proposals; manage direct and indirect reports.
• Support project finance queries and complex projects.
