Job summary

Astute Recruitment is seeking a Finance Manager for a Derby-based, permanent role. It is a hands-on position responsible for the day-to-day finance function and providing financial insight to drive informed decisions.

You’ll oversee management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, VAT, PAYE/NI, year-end, and collaboration with senior management and external partners. Office-based, in Derby.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role owning day-to-day finance function within a Derby business.
• Customer-focused with the ability to provide insightful commentary to senior management.
• Experience in management accounts, budgeting and year-end processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management and financial accounts with analysis for senior management.
• Manage budgets, forecasts and regular financial performance reviews.
• Oversee cash flow and treasury, ensuring clear financial position.
• Oversee VAT returns, PAYE, NI and other compliance.
• Coordinate with pensions, insurance, HMRC and external partners.
• Lead year-end accounts and assist external auditors.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency of the finance function.
