Job summary

Queens Cross Housing Association in Glasgow’s northwest seeks a Finance Manager to lead accounting for its factoring and commercial services. You will drive budgeting, reporting and compliance across subsidiary entities, ensuring accuracy and value for money.

You will manage a small team, oversee billing and debt recovery, and provide strategic financial guidance to senior management while enhancing customer service and financial controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance role with budgeting experience.
• Qualified accountant and degree-level qualification in finance or related field.
• Experience in arrears management and debt recovery, including knowledge of legal procedures.
• Experience of developing and implementing financial policies, procedures and controls.
• Experience in managing and motivating a team to achieve high performance.
• Strong knowledge of business planning, financial accounting, VAT and relevant Scottish legislation/court processes, with excellent analytical, organisational, communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day financial accounting processes for factoring, workspace and related companies, including management accounts and reporting.
• Lead quarterly billing for factored owners and monthly billing for tenants, ensuring accurate invoicing and cost recovery.
• Manage arrears and debt recovery processes, negotiating payment arrangements and actions up to legal proceedings.
• Prepare and submit key financial and regulatory returns (VAT, Property Factors Registration, ARC) and ensure compliance with legislation.
• Manage and develop a small Finance/Credit Control team to drive high performance and service quality.
• Provide financial advice and performance information to senior management and Boards, identifying efficiency and value-for-money opportunities.
