Job summary

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Finance Manager for Financial Control & Capital, to provide leadership across capital accounting, financial reporting and governance. You will deputy to the Financial Controller, influence the Capital Plan and support NHS financial returns.

Qualified accountants with NHS and IFRS experience are preferred to drive improvements and oversee a skilled Financial Accounts team within the Trust's Finance Directorate.

Responsibilities

• Act as deputy to the Financial Controller and provide technical leadership across capital accounting, capital VAT, financial reporting and financial governance.
• Lead the Trust's Capital Plan and ensure delivery of capital resource limits and statutory accounts.
• Provide expert financial advice to senior stakeholders and support continuous improvement of financial systems and controls.
• Develop and mentor members of the Financial Accounts team and contribute to capital investment programmes.

Finance Manager - Financial Control & Capital

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is looking for an ambitious and experienced finance professional to join its Finance Directorate as Finance Manager Financial Control & Capital. You will be part of a supportive and experienced team, providing expert leadership across capital accounting, financial reporting, treasury management and financial governance, whilst acting as operational deputy to the Financial Controller.

Working closely with senior leaders across the Trust, you will influence strategic investment decisions, support delivery of the Trust's Capital Plan and help ensure resources are used effectively to improve services for patients and service users. As a key member of the Financial Accounts team, you will also provide resilience and support across the finance function.

Main duties of the job

Acting as operational deputy to the Financial Controller, the post holder will provide technical leadership across capital accounting, capital VAT, financial reporting and financial governance. The role is responsible for leading the Trust's Capital Plan and the delivery of the capital resource limit, supporting the statutory accounts and NHS financial returns, ensuring compliance with IFRS and NHS accounting requirements, and providing expert financial advice to senior stakeholders. The post holder will also lead and develop members of the Financial Accounts team, support the delivery of strategic capital investment programmes and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems, controls and processes across the Trust.
