Job summary

Argos is seeking a Finance Manager - Financial and Technical Reporting to own the delivery of accurate consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules and reporting packs. You will manage legal entity submissions, consolidation adjustments, intercompany eliminations and foreign exchange translations, while ensuring tight close processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with experience in group consolidation and UK statutory reporting.
• Experience of legal entity submissions, consolidation adjustments, intercompany eliminations and consolidated financial statement preparation.
• Practical knowledge of UK-adopted international accounting standards and the Companies Act.
• Evidence of preparing technical accounting papers for complex or material transactions, with clear guidance and judgments.
• Proven experience managing an external audit or group reporting timetable and coaching or managing at least one finance colleague.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of accurate, timely consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules and reporting packs.
• Lead legal entity submissions, consolidation adjustments, intercompany eliminations and foreign exchange translations, maintaining close ownership and controls.
• Act as technical accounting lead on significant transactions and prepare accounting papers detailing guidance, judgments and impact.
• Coordinate external audit and support Board, shareholder and lender materials as required.
• Maintain accounting policies and drive process improvements across close and reporting, partnering with Tax, Treasury, Legal and operational teams.
