Job summary

The Doncaster Council is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial management within a dynamic council environment. You will oversee year-end processes, support the Statement of Accounts, and help shape revenue budgeting and the Council Financial Strategy.

You will join a supportive finance team that values innovation, delivers robust financial controls, and provides development opportunities. Applicants with public sector experience and strong analytical skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in public sector financial management and accounting.
• Strong knowledge of year-end closure, budgeting and financial regulations.
• Ability to work within a proactive, collaborative finance team.

Duties Include

Ensuring the year-end accounts are closed down in line with the agreed procedures and legislation;

Provide the information required for the Statement of Accounts;

Assist with preparing revenue budgets, contributing to the formulation of the Council Financial Strategy.
