Job summary

JLD Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations from our Southend-on-Sea office. You will report directly to the Managing Director and play a key role in keeping finances accurate and compliant.

The successful candidate will manage invoicing, VAT returns, payroll support, and monthly reports, while looking for process improvements to drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of financial reporting, VAT and reconciliations.
• Confident working independently and communicating with management.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance, invoicing and payments.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable and credit control.
• Monitor cash flow and manage financial commitments.
• Support payroll and complete VAT returns.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss and cash flow.
• Maintain accurate financial records and complete reconciliations.
• Liaise with external accountants and HMRC.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes.
