Job summary

Proactive Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Finance & Accounts Manager to take responsibility for day-to-day accounts and the finance function in Bromsgrove.

This hands-on role requires managing ledgers, reconciliations, supplier payments, VAT, month-end reporting, and providing Directors with clear financial information from the small business.

Office-based role with a salary of £30,000-£35,000 per year; benefits include bereavement leave, free parking, on-site parking and sick pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts, bookkeeping or finance management.
• Strong understanding of purchase and sales ledgers.
• Experience processing supplier payments.
• Knowledge of VAT and general accounting procedures.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day accounts and finance function.
• Maintain the purchase and sales ledgers and process supplier invoices.
• Carry out regular bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and manage supplier payment runs.
• Monitor outstanding customer accounts and assist with credit control.
• Maintain accurate records of payments, receipts and expenses.
• Monitor company cash flow and provide updates to the Director.
• Assist with VAT returns and other statutory accounting requirements.
• Prepare month-end information and management reports and assist with budgets, forecasts and financial analysis when required.
• Liaise with external accountants and provide information for year-end accounts.
• Review existing accounting procedures and help improve financial controls and efficiency where appropriate.
