Job summary

Elicay Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Finance Manager for a growing SME in Swanley, Kent. You will take ownership of the full accounting cycle, prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and reports, and manage cash flow and working capital.

The role reports to the Managing Director as part of the Senior Leadership Team and involves improving finance processes, implementing an automated billing system and providing financial insight for commercial decision-making.

Finance Manager

Location: Swanley, Kent

Salary: Circa £45,000 - £50,000 DOE

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to join a successful and growing SME based in Swanley, Kent.

The business has experienced significant growth in recent years, with turnover increasing to approx £10m.

This is a broad, hands-on Finance Manager position with responsibility for the full accounting cycle, including transactional finance, management accounts, cash flow, financial control and reporting.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will also play an important role in improving finance processes, implementing a new automated billing system and providing greater financial insight to support commercial decision-making.

THE ROLE

• Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and full accounting cycle
• Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and supporting reports
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, credit control and working capital
• Purchase ledger, sales ledger, invoicing, payments, VAT and bank reconciliations
• Improve financial controls, reporting processes and management information
• Support the implementation of a new automated billing system and continued development of the finance function

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Previous experience as a Sole Charge Finance Manager, Accountant, Bookkeeper or similar hands-on finance role
• Strong all round accounting experience
• Comfortable managing both transactional finance and higher-level reporting
• Experience working within a growing SME environment
• Strong systems and Excel skills with the ability to improve processes and financial controls

Applications are welcomed from qualified accountants (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) as well as experienced QBE candidates.

Experience using Xero and implementing or improving finance/billing systems would be advantageous.

SALARY & BENEFITS

• Circa £45,000 - £50,000 salary depending on experience
• Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

This is a fully office-based position in Swanley with no home-working option.
