Finance Manager
Location: Stamford
Salary: £33,000 - £38,000 (Dependent on experience)
Our client is seeking a finance professional to drive continuous improvements in the daily operations of the department.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure all finance processes and procedures comply with accounting standards.
- Handle daily transaction processing, including purchase invoices, sales invoices, expenses, and credit cards.
- Manage banking and cash responsibilities, including reconciliation on Xero, payment of creditors, and management of debtors.
- Provide daily cash reporting to the leadership team.
- Prepare and report month-end accounts, including accruals, prepayments, payroll, rebates, and depreciation.
- Conduct variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Handle quarterly VAT returns and prepare monthly reporting packs for board meetings.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and liaise with HR on monthly payroll.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets in conjunction with MD and CEO.
- Continuously improve finance and accounting processes.
- Support external accountants during the year-end process.
- Prepare financial information to support external applications such as grants and investments.
- Generate reports, including daily sales forecasts and weekly provisional and confirmed reports.
- Manage insurance, healthcare, and DIS renewals.
- Manage and train the finance team.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and all policies, including ISO27001:2022 ISMS, to support information security measures.
- Knowledge of Xero accounts package is advantageous.
Key Performance Indicators/Measurement:
- Contribute to overall company financial targets.
- Produce management accounts by the 8th of each month.
- Maintain debtor days below 90, ideally less than 5% overdue.
- Develop and support team growth.
- Complete year-end reports within 4 weeks of year-end.
- Deliver reports within established timelines.
- Maintain and promote company culture and core values.
