Job summary

Reed is recruiting a Finance Manager/Controller for its North Wales-based operation. The role is on-site in Ruthin and leads a small finance team while adding value to a market-leading subsidiary.

You will prepare management accounts through trial balance, oversee cash flow, VAT returns, and year-end audits, and manage payroll. Manufacturing exposure is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in preparing management accounts and handling financial operations.
• Manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential.
• Sage Line 50 experience would be ideal.

Responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts through to trial balance.
• Manage daily cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and invoice financing facilities.
• Conduct stock valuation and costing in a manufacturing environment.
• Handle payroll processing and reconciliation.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Support year-end audits and liaise with auditors.
• Supervise a transactional finance team and ensure compliance with regulations.

Finance Manager / Controller

• Location: Ruthin, North Wales (On-Site)
• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum

We are seeking a Finance Controller/Manager to join a market-leading organisation based in North Wales to lead a small team and add experience and value. This role is perfect for someone that has a strong background of leading teams in Finance and enjoys the pleasures of working for a small subsidiary of a large National organisation.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Prepare management accounts through to trial balance
• Manage daily cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and invoice financing facilities.
• Conduct stock valuation and costing in a stock-holding or manufacturing/production environment.
• Handle hands-on payroll processing and reconciliation.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Support year-end financial audits and liaise directly with auditors.
• Manage or supervise a transactional finance team, ensuring all financial operations are carried out in line with statutory regulations and organisational policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
