Job summary

CV Screen Ltd is recruiting a Finance Manager for a site-based role in Oakham, Rutland. The position offers exposure to the full finance function and mentoring from the Financial Controller.

You will run key financial processes, support month-end, and contribute to cost controls within a growing SME in the renewable energy sector.

Qualifications

• A solid accounting background is required, hands-on Sage 50 experience is desirable.
• Practical knowledge of reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments, plus good Excel skills.
• AAT or ACCA/CIMA study is desirable; you must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK, sponsorship not available

Responsibilities

• Run daily purchase and sales ledger activity, bank reconciliations and nominal postings.
• Handle journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Help produce monthly management accounts, cash-flow reports, forecasts and budgets.
• Prepare payment runs and support VAT, CIS and payroll.
• Partner with operations on stock reconciliation and help strengthen finance systems and controls

CV Screen is delighted to be recruiting a Finance Manager on behalf of a well-established renewable energy engineering business in Oakham, Rutland. Paying up to £38,000, this is a fantastic opportunity for a developing finance professional to step into a broad, hands-on role, working alongside an experienced Financial Controller and running much of the day-to-day finance function. Our client delivers low‑carbon energy systems and is growing steadily, so you'll gain genuine responsibility early and exposure to every area of finance within a thriving SME.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Run daily purchase and sales ledger activity, bank reconciliations and nominal postings
• Handle journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Help produce monthly management accounts, cash-flow reports, forecasts and budgets

What Experience is Required

• A solid accounting background, perhaps as a Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or Senior Finance Assistant, with hands-on Sage 50 experience
• Practical knowledge of reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments, plus good Excel skills
• AAT or ACCA/CIMA study is desirable; you must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available

Salary & Benefits

Salary up to £38,000 plus benefits, alongside direct mentoring from the Financial Controller, broad cross-functional exposure and a clear platform to progress towards a senior finance role.

Location

A full-time, site-based role in Oakham, Rutland, within easy reach of Melton Mowbray, Stamford, Uppingham, Grantham, Corby and Leicester.
